While doing research for my term paper about the Romani people, I remembered one of my favorite paintings. Here is "Gypsy Woman" (1886) by Nikolai Yaroshenko.
I discovered a new follower on my dashboard and lo and behold, it was none other than Mademoiselle Lisa.
Anyway, I love Yaroshenko's painting, "Life is Everywhere". I don't know why we don't get exposed to more Russian art here, as it is a totally different world than American and Italian art.
When I was in Taiwan last year, there was this huge exhibit that showcased contemporary (and old?) paintings of Russian artists and Taiwan artists. It was split into two gigantic rooms that connected in the middle. Honestly, the best show I've ever attended. Taiwan has some incredible artists as well!

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. Hi, bye!
